Ceske Budejovice, also known as Budweis, is a city with a rich history and a unique atmosphere. If you're looking for a trip that will allow you to experience the charm of this South Bohemian town, you don't have to go far. Since almost most visitors to Holašovice at least pass through Ceske Budejovice, we've decided to bring you some tips on why you should stop in Budweis. Otherwise, none of the locals will tell them.

If you visit the historic centre, you will probably find yourself on Přemysl Otakar II Square. The square is proudly named after the founder himself. This square is the heart of the city and one of the largest squares in the Czech Republic. It is surrounded by historic buildings, cafes and restaurants. The centre of the square is dominated by the monumental Samson Fountain, which cannot be missed from all sides. Another iconic building is then the Town Hall, which only underlines the history of this city. Another and equally iconic landmark of the city is the Black Tower. It measures 72 metres in height and in the past served as an observation tower and contributed to the security of the city. Today it is open to the public and if you decide to climb it, you will get a unique view of the square Přemysl Otakar II Square and other parts of České Budějovice. If you would like to relax, be sure to visit the Stromovka Nature Park, which is located near the city centre and offers beautiful walks and relaxation. As an example, take a stroll along the Malše River, which flows through the entire city, and you can take a pleasant stroll along the waterfront and enjoy the beautiful views of the city and the river.

In Ceske Budejovice you will also find the only state-owned brewery Budweiser Budvar. If you decide to visit the brewery, you can look forward to a guided tour where you will learn more about the beer production process, and of course, you will be able to taste it too!

In Ceske Budejovice you will also find a wide range of restaurants and cafés where you can enjoy traditional Czech cuisine and taste local specialties and traditional Budweiser beer.

Whether you are a lover of history, culture or good beer, this city will provide you with everything you could wish for for a fun trip!
